Jonathan Green Week: March 1st-8th, 2008
From March 1 to March 8, 2008, the Lowcountry will celebrate "Jonathan Green Week," a cultural celebration Inspired by a magnificent new painting of Green’s entitled “Seeking.” The week will include a series of cultural events from an opening gala at the Gibbes Museum of Art, to evenings of poetry and jazz inspired by his painting, to celebrate the artist and his many contributions to cultural life in the Lowcountry. Barnes & Noble Book Fair: January 11th-20th, 2008
Barnes & Noble stores in the Charleston area are holding a 10-day book fair. For every book and gift item purchased, (you must present a voucher) Barnes & Noble with donate a percentage to the Philip Simmons Foundation. Vouchers may be downloaded HERE or picked up at the following locations:

Barnes & Noble Show 'n Tell: January 19th, 2008, 2-4 pm
The West Ashley Barnes & Noble at the corner of Sam Rittenburg and Hwy 61 is having a show and tell where owners of small pieces of ironwork made by the master blacksmith may bring them to the store to be authenticated by a Philip Simmons Representative. If you own larger works, please bring photos and any other information regarding the piece. Signed books will also be available for purchase.
